Women Who Inspire | Carly Fauth, Cancer Survivor

This October, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Naboso is spotlighting women who embody strength, resilience, and the spirit of community.  Today, we are honored to feature Carly Fauth, a Fitness Mentor, breast cancer survivor, and the heart behind FitFunCarly.

A Journey That Changed Everything

Carly’s path took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. While she will “never thank cancer for anything,” she shares that her journey opened her eyes to the true beauty of human kindness. From the very first days of her diagnosis, people showed up for her in ways that left her in awe—reminding her of the importance of surrounding yourself with good people and of putting good energy into the world.

Her diagnosis also became a turning point for self-discovery. Carly says it gave her “the chance to live more authentically and feel comfortable in her own skin.” What emerged from that experience was not just resilience, but a renewed perspective on what really matters.

Bringing Kindness and Confidence Into Business

Today, Carly infuses her fitness coaching with the same kindness, patience, and gratitude she developed through her Cancer journey. Facing mortality, she explains, gave her a new inner confidence—one that now shines through in her work with clients.

“I’m no longer afraid to take risks or to put myself out there,” she says. “Even if it means looking a little foolish along the way.” That fearless energy fuels both her business and her mentorship, inspiring her clients to step into their own confidence.

Staying Grounded Through it All

For Carly, movement has always been a passion—but now it carries an even deeper purpose. She uses exercise as a way to connect her mind and body, practicing gratitude and reflection with every step.

She also leans on her ability to “reframe.” In every challenge, she looks for the positive—whether it’s a new lesson, perspective, or opportunity. This mindset not only keeps her grounded, but also helps her lead others through their own difficulties.

Family as Motivation

When the road gets tough, Carly looks to her husband and kids for inspiration. She doesn’t shy away from showing them her struggles, but she also models resilience.

“I always want to show that you never stop believing in yourself and you never stop showing up for yourself,” she says. “I didn’t come this far just to come this far.”

Lessons for Women Everywhere

Carly’s story is one of honesty, strength, and hope. Her message to other women is clear: it’s okay to be afraid, and it’s okay to admit when life feels unfair. What matters is that you keep going.

“Control the controllables,” she advises. “That’s where confidence builds and momentum begins. And above all, remember—you are the author of your own story. Don’t hand that pen to anyone else.”

Creating Impact Beyond Herself

Through FitFunCarly, Carly mentors clients with the same lessons that helped her during her Cancer journey. She shows how even small, consistent bursts of exercise can build resilience, confidence, and hope. The impact doesn’t stop with her clients—Carly’s influence ripples outward, inspiring families, communities, and workplaces.

Movement, once her lifeline during treatment, has become the foundation of her mission to empower others.

Advice for Women Entrepreneurs Facing Adversity

Carly’s encouragement for other women navigating tough times is equal parts practical and hopeful:

“If your idea still excites you, don’t give up on it. But also give yourself permission to evolve. Don’t feel locked into one path. Have the courage to pivot. The universe has a way of guiding you toward where you’re meant to go—trust it.”
