Women Who Inspire | Jana Webb, Recovery Warrior

This October, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Naboso is spotlighting women who embody strength, resilience, and the spirit of community. Today, we are honored to feature Jana Webb, Founder of Joga World and Recovery Warrior.
A Journey That Changed Everything
Nine years ago, Jana’s life was turned upside down when she was in a head-on car collision that left her with a broken back and a brain injury. Recovery was a long road, but it also reshaped her purpose. While she had always been passionate about wellness, her experience deepened that passion into compassion.
“I now look at people and circumstances in an entirely different way, and understand that everybody is going through something, even though we might not see it,” Jana shares. Her accident also instilled in her an unshakable sense of accountability and diligence that continues to drive her work today.
Reframing Life and Business
The accident shifted the way Jana approached her career. She leaned into the responsibility that health practitioners have to positively impact the lives of others. This perspective inspired her to expand her business into coaching other coaches—equipping them with the tools, mindset, and accountability needed to maximize their impact and success.
Resilience in Practice
Resilience is built into Jana’s daily routine. She begins each day with two non-negotiables: walking and meditating. Whether it’s a two-minute breathing practice or a twenty-minute meditation, these habits help her center herself, set intentions, and reflect. “Walking helps me reflect on the day before and shapes what I want out of the present day,” she says. These practices keep her grounded no matter how busy life gets.
The Inspiration to Keep Going
Jana finds her greatest inspiration in her son. As a single parent, she has had no choice but to be resilient—even running her business from a hospital bed after her accident to provide for him. “That little human being still needs his mom every single day,” she says. Beyond her son, Jana draws strength from proving wrong the naysayers who told her she couldn’t achieve her goals. She channels their doubt into fuel, adopting the mentality: watch me.
Lessons for Women Everywhere
If there’s one message Jana hopes women take away from her journey, it’s that setbacks are inevitable—but they don’t define you. “Obstacles, setbacks, challenges, flat out failure, is going to happen. That’s life and that’s business,” she reflects. “All we can do is prepare ourselves the best we can physically, mentally, and emotionally.” For Jana, resilience isn’t about avoiding hardship but learning how to face it with strength and adaptability.
Creating Impact Beyond Herself
Jana’s entrepreneurial mission has always been rooted in empowering others, particularly women in sports. Watching the professional coaches she mentors live out their dreams is more fulfilling than any personal accomplishment. “There’s enough pieces of the pie for everyone, and I don’t need it all for myself. I want to share it,” she says. By investing in the growth of others, Jana amplifies her impact far beyond her own career.
Advice for Women Entrepreneurs Facing Adversity
Jana credits her perspective on adversity to lessons from her father, a farmer whose livelihood was constantly at the mercy of the weather. His unwavering optimism taught her that challenges are inevitable, but how you face them makes all the difference. “The sun will come out tomorrow,” she remembers him saying. Her advice to women: view adversity with curiosity, learn from it, and never lose sight of the truth that you are capable of handling more than you think.
